The police are looking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an attempted rape that occurred last week.
According to the NYPD, a 21-year-old woman was taking a northbound 3 train on Thursday, January 9th around 4 p.m. She was in the second to last train car when she noticed the suspect masturbating. She decided to go into the next train car, but he followed her and grabbed her from behind. The suspect then forced her onto a seat and tried to rape her. He then fled when the train pulled into the 148th Street station.
The suspect is described as being 6'0 and about 25-35 years old. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black hat and brown coat.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
