Yesterday's big news story was how NJ Governor Chris Christie's deputy chief of staff ordered the days-long closure of two Fort Lee, NJ lanes to the George Washington Bridge. Now, as Christie pleads ignorance, Garden State son Jon Stewart took up "Bridgegate."
Noting "Backing up bridge traffic doesn't punish Fort Lee's mayor. It punishes people trying to get the fuck out of Fort Lee," Stewart was shocked that Christie didn't apologize in any way for the mess. Still, "You can see Paul Ryan's boner from space."
Then he criticized the Christie administration for this "piss-poor, third-rate quality of corruption," pointing out that New Jersey is known for "piss-rich, first-rate quality of corruption"—like, NJ politicians, money laundering, rabbis and kidney dealing.
Stewart yelled, "There is literally a severed horse's head on the state flag!" However, he was impressed with Christie's "level of dickishness and sarcasm" when claiming Bridgegate was a non-story:
He closed, "We have a saying in NJ...It's a death trap. It's a suicide rap. You've gotta get out while you're. So don't block the bridge. Because there's not many ways out."
