Numerous big box retailers and department stores opened yesterday on Thanksgiving. And the hashtag #WalmartFights reared its ugly head. Over in NJ, Garfield police used pepper spray on a Walmart shopper.

Police tell the Star-Ledger that Richard Ramos, 23, became "'belligerent' while arguing with a Wal-Mart shopper over a television around 6:30 p.m., and proceeded to attack a Garfield Police officer when the manager called for help." After pepper-spraying him, cops charged him with aggravated assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The police wouldn't say what sparked the fight, but customers told WABC 7 that the store seemed very organized. However, a New Yorker visiting a Walmart in North Carolina caught this:

In 2008, a Walmart greeter was killed at a Long Island store after being trampled by customers.
