Slide images like the ones below typically deliver some shock, often showing dramatic changes in the landscape—for example, we saw many post-Sandy slides showing the devastation to certain harder hit neighborhoods. The fascinating images below, however, show changes through growth and development... whether it was wanted by everyone or not.
Point2Homes and PropertyShark put these together, comparing current satellite images of major NYC development sites against images of the same sites in 2008.
You'll see Three World Trade Center, Barclays Center, The United Nations Campus, Yankee Stadium... and you can even toggle back to a simpler time when Williamsburg didn't have the Northside development hovering over its waterfront.
Manhattan — Three World Trade Center
Manhattan — United Nations Plaza
Manhattan — 71-115 St. Nicholas Terrace (CCNY Campus)
Brooklyn — Northside Piers 2 Northside Piers
Brooklyn — Barclays Center
Bronx — Yankee Stadium
And here are some showing the Rockaway area post-Sandy:
Queens — Rockaway Beach and Boardwalk (after Sandy)
Queens — 26 Boardwalk Far Rockaway (after Sandy)
Queens — 43-00 Beach Channel Drive
