Authorities are searching for a man who opened fire on two people in Garden City, Long Island. The Roosevelt Field Mall is locked down and Garden City schools are not allowing anyone inside.
According to Newsday, "Det. Vincent Garcia of the Nassau police said a man walked into a single-story commercial building on South Street at 10:10 a.m. and shot two people... The shooter left in a white sport utility vehicle, possibly a Honda Pilot, Garcia said."
The condition of the victims is not known yet. Eyewitness News reports, "GardenCity Police are searching for a suspect that they described as a 6'2" Asian male, wearing a red shirt, grey or brown suit jacket."
A shopper at the mall told Newsday, "This is terrifying. After what happened in Kenya, everyone is already on edge."
Update: NBC New York reports the shooter was an ex-employee and that one of the two victims was killed.
