Officials say a man was fatally struck by a southbound 1 train in Midtown this afternoon.

The incident occurred at the 50th Street 1 station just before 3 p.m. The FDNY tells us the unidentified male was reported dead at the scene, and they have reported neither his age nor how he ended up under the train; we will update as more information becomes available.

The MTA tells us the 1,2 and 3 trains are experiencing significant delays. The southbound 1 is suspended from 145th Street to South Ferry, and the 3 train is suspended in both directions. The 2 train is running along the 5 line from 149th Street to Nevins Street.
