The Queens Aqueduct Racino, which opened nearly two years ago, is a big success story. Unless you're a baby whose parent has abandoned her in the car in order to hit the slots.
According to the Post, a passer-by noticed a nine-month old baby girl and three boys in a locked car outside the racino yesterday afternoon. Ruth Liberal, 29, allegedly left her daughter and two sons (4 and 9) plus her l13-year-old brother in the vehicle while she was having fun: "Earlier, Liberal had taken the kids to eat at the casino. She then allegedly brought them back out to the car, locked them inside and went back inside to gamble, the sources said."
Liberal was arrested for failure to exercise control of a minor. This is not the first time this has happened (18-month-old left in car while dad was gambling; five children left in car while mother was gambling; 14-month-old left in car while dad was gambling; 1-year-old and 10-year-old left in car while parents were gambling) and, sadly, it probably won't be the last.
