Just before 7 a.m., a white Nissan Altima jumped a curb and then barreled into a bodega at 2nd Avenue and East 4th Street in Manhattan. Eight people were injured, three seriously.
According to MyFoxNY, the car "sustained heavy front-end damage. At least one other car was also involved in the accident." And WABC 7 reports, "Five people inside the vehicle were being treated, while at least three others in or around the East Village Farm, a 24-hour grocery, were injured."
Update: The Post reports that three of the injured people worked at the deli, "The most seriously hurt, a worker named Ali, had been setting up the flower stand when he was mowed down. He was listed in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital, and the other workers were stable, cops said. A bicyclist was also struck, and was listed in stable condition."
