Three men were killed in separate shooting incidents this weekend, and several more are recovering from injuries after a particularly violent Friday night/early Saturday morning.

Terrence Davis, 24, was fatally shot at about 8:45 p.m in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx. He was shot several times in the torso, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Just a few hours later, at 11:53 p.m., cops say an unidentified 23-year-old male was found shot in the armpit at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Grand Avenue in Clinton Hill in Brooklyn. He was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he succumbed to his injury. And at 1:20 a.m., a 29-year-old and a 37-year-old man were shot in East Flatbush; the former was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital, and the latter is in stable condition at the same hospital.

Other violent incidents last night include a shooting in Rockaway Beach, Queens, in which a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were shot and are recovering at local hospitals; two separate, non-fatal shootings in Mott Haven in the Bronx and the shooting of a 23-year-old man in Brownsville, Brooklyn. A 40-year-old man was also stabbed in the chest in an apartment building in the Ollinville section of the Bronx, and he is currently in stable condition at Jacobi Hospital. And all of this happened after an 11-year-old girl was shot in the neck in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

It's not unusual to see a spike in shootings coincide with a spike in temperatures, and in particularly hot weekend last year, 7 people were fatally shot and 21 more were injured.
