The coastal low was given a smackdown this morning! The clever little cyclone thought it could spew some rain across the city overnight but it was repelled by high pressure sitting just to our west. That's sets us up for a mostly sunny and warm afternoon. Look for the high to get really close to 60 degrees.

Now the bad news. An overnight cold front will bring forth a cool and windy start to the weekend. Tonight's low will likely drop to near freezing and Saturday's high looks like it will just edge into the 50s. That's not terribly bad, especially since Sunday should be fairly warm across much of the region. A weak storm passing across New England will drag a warmer air mass over the region. Generally that should warm us into the lower 60s. However, a southerly breeze over the cold ocean will bring cool conditions to the coast. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly where but a good chunk of the city along the south-facing shore might actually be cooler on Sunday than on Saturday. There's also a slight chance of scattered showers Sunday afternoon but the better bet is for a benign mix of sun and clouds.

Monday's weather is kind of a repeat of Sunday. Expect shoreline locations and wherever John Del Signore is to remain chilly, while points inland warm to the mid 60s. The forecast for the rest of next week is muddled at the moment. Not too cool, not unusually warm, maybe a chance of showers.
