A man was fatally struck by an E train in Manhattan this morning, making it the seventh subway-related incident in the past five days. According to the MTA, the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. at the W. 23rd Street A/C/E station; the man was struck by a southbound E train. NYPD added that they believe the person was "a jumper."
FDNY said they were still at the scene. The MTA adds that C trains are running express from 59th Street to Canal Street, and southboung E trains are running express from 50th Street to Canal Street.
On Wednesday, a man was fatally struck by an F train at the Roosevelt Avenue / 74th Street station in Jackson Heights; another man was injured after falling onto the tracks at Columbus Circle that day. On Thursday, another person was fatally struck by an F train in Queens. On Friday morning, a man was struck by a 1 train on the Upper West Side; that evening, a man was fatally struck by a 2 train at Penn Station.
