The police are seeking the public's help in finding a man who repeatedly punched a teenage girl and stole her iPhone in the Bronx. According to the NYPD, on Thursday, January 24th, the 17-year-old girl was walking to her home on East 187th Street at 2:15 p.m. when she was followed into the building by a man. He then pushed her against the wall and dragged her down the stairs.
The police say, "When they reached the bottom of the stairs, the suspect continuously punched the victim in the face and then removed her iPhone from her." The victim suffered bruising and lacerations to her face.
The suspect fled the building and is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, approximately 6'2", and 160 lbs., with a slim build, light skin complexion and with black hair in corn row braids. He was last seen wearing a burgundy coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
A video of the suspect assaulting the victim and fleeing the location with the iPhone is attached and available at D.C.P.I.
Anyone with information in regards is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
