NYC had gone 9 days without a murder, but that murder-free streak is now definitely over: a Queens man was found fatally shot in the head yesterday. Victim Jahim Campbell, 24, was found in the basement apartment of 97-28 57th Avenue around 6 p.m. on Saturday. He was found unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Another Queens man, 24-year-old Michael Infante, was found dead at 48-17 59 Place, but police said there was no criminality suspected at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
The streak may have ended even sooner though—a woman was found half-naked in the street in Crown Heights early Friday morning. The woman, who was in her 40s, was naked from the waist down, and declared dead at Kings County Hospital. Police are still waiting for the medical examiner's report to determine whether she was sexually assaulted. Cops have not released her identity yet, and say the death is still under investigation.
