A cyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early this morning in Bushwick. Police say that a 38-year-old man was biking east on George Street at around 3:50 a.m. when the driver of a silver sedan traveling southbound on Central Avenue struck him near the intersection, then fled the scene.

An FDNY spokesman said the man suffered severe head trauma and a laceration to the forehead, and was transported to Kings County Hospital. Police are still investigating, and no arrests have been made.
