90-Yr-Old Brooklyn Woman Shot While Walking To Laundromat

Yesterday afternoon, a 90-year-old woman who was walking to the laundromat with her home health aide was shot twice by a drive-by gunman in East New York. The NY Times reports, "She appeared to have been caught in the cross-fire when the gunman shot at a group on foot near Blake and Miller Avenues."
The victim, Gloria Johnson, was hit in the arm and taken to Brookdale Hospital. Her daughter told the Post, "She did not know she got shot until she saw blood."
The shooter was in a silver Audi and a witness said, "We heard three shots. I ran inside and got right down on my belly. Then this big crowd of kids went running by. By the time I came out, this old woman was lying there on the sidewalk."
A neighbor told the NY Times, "She's a very, very gentle human being. She's 90 years old." And her son said, "She was really scared. I hugged her and tried to tell her it was going to be all right. She’s sleeping now.”
No arrests have been made, but police hope that surveillance cameras in the neighborhood will aid in the investigation.
