Three workers were injured in a Manhattan construction accident this afternoon—two of them seriously. The injuries were the result of a structural collapse at 160 Lexington Avenue.

According to fire officials a "scaffolding collapse" was called in at 2:38 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene three male workers were found to have sustained injuries from a ceiling collapse related to a 3rd floor renovation. Two of them—a 24-year-old and a 34-year-old—have been taken to New York Hospital.

As a result of accident Lexington Avenue from 30th to 31st Streets, and East 30th Street from Park Avenue South to Lexington were closed to traffic.
