A man died after being struck by a 7 train at the 40th Street in Sunnyside, Queens around 8 p.m. Police believe that he may have been pushed in front of the Queens-bound train and say that the alleged pusher was a woman. UPDATE, December 28: Here's video of the suspected attacker, and here is a sketch.
The 7 line is suspended as the police investigate. Witnesses say that the victim was pushed. NY Times reporter Ravi Somaiya Tweeted, "Witnesses say pusher (woman) was walking behind victim, mumbling to herself," "The man pushed to his death under a subway train "appeared not to notice" the woman who did it, witnesses tell police" and "The woman, who was heavy-set, around 5"5 and in her 20s, according to police, fled and has still not been found."
WCBS 2 reports, "She was described as wearing a blue, white and gray ski jacket and Nike sneakers."
Check mta.info for information about subway service—right now, the MTA says that passengers can take the Q32 and that the LIRR will be cross honoring fares at Penn, Woodside and Mets-Willets Point Stations.
Earlier this month, a man died after being shoved in front of an N train in midtown Manhattan.
