Last night, subway service on the A and C lines was disrupted when a man was killed after touching the third rail at a Brooklyn subway station.

According to DNAinfo, around 4:45 p.m., the "man was electrocuted at the Broadway Junction A and C subway station Friday afternoon after landing on the train tracks and touching the third rail, authorities said."

It's unclear why the man was on the tracks, but power was shut off when the man was spotted. He was removed by first responders.

NYC Subway says, "The subway's contact (third) rail requires 625 volts for operating trains." One man survived falling onto the third rail in 2010—also at the Broadway Junction station.
