Police are questioning a suspect in the murder of 58-year-old Ki-Suck Han, an Elmhurst resident who was fatally shoved onto the subway tracks at 49th Street and 7th Avenue yesterday afternoon. But NYPD spokesman Paul Browne has not identified the man by name, and told the Times police would not “identify him until a lineup is done."

Today NYPD officers were stopping all southbound trains at the station where Han was killed and entering the cars to ask witnesses to come forward. An NYPD source tells Newsday the suspect "was picked up by detectives Tuesday afternoon at 50th Street and Seventh Avenue where he was seen helping street vendors... Detectives had learned while they canvassed the area that the individual seen on videos at the time of the fatal incident resembled someone who often helped street vendors."

Browne tells the Times that investigators “saw his image at various locations and found people who knew him." Investigators also learned that the suspect used to work at a deli near the scene of the killing, and a manager there told them he recognized the former employee's voice from the video released by the NYPD this morning.
