A woman was beaten with a baseball bat and robbed in Prospect Heights, not far from the Barclays Center last weekend. According to police, a 30-year-old woman was walking with a 30-year-old man on St. Marks Avenue near Vanderbilt Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday night when they were approached by two perps. "I was awoken by the screams—I went to the window and I could see her crouched down," local Jessica Bernhard told DNAInfo. "She was bleeding from the back of her head."

One of the perps hit the woman in the head with a baseball bat, taking her iPhone, purse, and credit cards. An officer told us that words were exchanged between the two parties before she was hit, noting it was an unusual situation: "It doesn't happen too often, not if there's a male present." The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital. Police say no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
