A pregnant Brooklyn woman was fatally stabbed inside her Brownsville apartment this morning. Police say 38-year-old Vindalee Smith was found in her home on East 94th Street around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Post, Smith was eight months pregnant, and had multiple stab wounds to her neck. Friends at the scene told them they were going to hold a baby shower for her tonight—Smith was supposed to get married tomorrow morning.
Smith as a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and church members told 1010 WINS " the killing should serve as a call for New Yorkers to renounce violence. 'Turn away from your wicked ways,' one said."
Police add that no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
