When it comes to the 2013 mayoral election field, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is still the tops, according to the latest Marist/NY1 poll—but she shouldn't start measuring the drapes at Gracie Mansion just yet. With just 23 percent support, Quinn's lead isn't what it has been. And the same polling data says that nearly a third of New Yorkers want Elliot Spitzer to enter the race—and a quarter of them want Anthony Weiner to slip in, too. See what we did there?

As for the major mayoral names on the democratic ticket, the poll of 918 New York City adults [PDF] found that former City Comptroller Bill Thompson is trailing Quinn for second place with the support of 15 percent. Next up, with nine percent of registered Democrats citywide, is current Comptroller John Liu while 8 percent support Public Advocate Bill de Blasio. Six percent back Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and Tom Allon, publisher of Manhattan Media, has 2 percent. Meanwhile, 37 percent of are unsure! Which is to say, there is still lots of time for things to change.

One way they probably won't shift, however, is in the direction of Alec Baldwin. Only 18 percent want to see him toss his hat in the ring. Good thing he says he has lost the appetite for it. Sadly it appears that Marist did not ask about Stephen Baldwin's mayoral potential (which makes sense as this was a poll regarding the Dems).
