This Saturday, Smithsonian Magazine wants to treat you to a free day at one of the cities many wonderful local museums. Museum Day Live! is an annual event in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket. This is the perfect opportunity to skip the MoMA, Met and Guggenheim, and explore one of the smaller city museums you haven't been to before—because there are over 30 in the five boroughs!
All you have to do is fill out your information here, and you can print out a free ticket for two to any of the museums. So without further adieu, here are ALL the nearby participating museums: The American Folk Art Museum, Asia Society Museum, Bard Graduate Center, Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum (Bronx), Brooklyn Historical Society, Brooklyn Museum, El Museo del Barrio, Fraunces Tavern Museum, Historic Richmond Town (Staten Island), International Center of Photography, Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden, Museum of American Finance, Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators, Museum of Arts and Design, Museum of Chinese in America, New York City Fire Museum, New York Historical Society, Pratt Manhattan Gallery, Queens Historical Society at the Kingsland Homestead, Queens Museum of Art, The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, The Hispanic Society of America, Museum and Library, The Jewish Museum, The Morgan Library & Museum, The Noble Maritime Collection (Staten Island), The Noguchi Museum, The Skyscraper Museum, The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Ukrainian Museum, and The Vilcek Foundation. Phew.

Yes, Stevie Wonder is playing MSG. No, you can't afford tickets. See these shows instead.
LCD Soundsystem also uses synthesizers. Ok, maybe not the same thing. But it's still a great month for music in NYC.
