President Obama will be in town tonight snarling traffic at 6 p.m. for a slew of fundraisers in Lincoln Square, culminating in the "Obama Classic," a $20K-per-plate dinner co-hosted with Michael Jordan and other NBA stars. “The president does love basketball, but I don’t have anything to report yet,” a campaign spokesperson told ABC yesterday. "I’ll just say I feel pretty good about … how the president is going to play tomorrow. He is playing with some NBA heroes. So I don’t want to overbuild it.” Our sources tell us that if Jordan dunks on Obama, the president has agreed to let His Airness see, but not touch, the red button.

Gridlock Sam advises you to stay away from Broadway, Central Park South, Central Park West, and 8th Avenue early, and later to avoid the FDR as much of it will be closed south of 96th from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. Air Force One is scheduled to depart JFK at 11 p.m.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney announced that he too enjoys "playing ball-centric and ball-related games of physical skill."
