The city is still suffocating under a thick layer of humidity and hot garbage smell, but The Rockettes will try to cool things down on 6th Avenue this morning. At 11 a.m. in front of Radio City Music Hall, the high kicking ladies will perform for passerby as a part of their annual "Christmas In August" event, celebrating their 85th year and 2012's Christmas Spectacular.

This year the audience will be "treated to a look at the Rockettes’ past, present and future with a costume retrospective showcasing memorable Rockettes styles through the years, all leading up to a high energy performance by the legendary New York dance company." (Here's our own look back at the dance troupe.)

Did we mention Santa Claus (and a camel) will be there?
