A van struck a cyclist in Flatbush this afternoon, leaving the victim in critical condition. According to an NYPD spokesperson, both the van and the cyclist were traveling southbound on Flatbush Avenue at around 3:00 p.m. when the van struck the cyclist near Foster Avenue. An FDNY spokesperon said that the cyclist, a man in his 30s, was unconscious at the scene, and was transported to Kings County Hospital in critical condition. The NYPD spokesperson said that the van remained at the scene, and there is no criminality suspected.
The Post is currently reporting that the police told them the vehicle fled the scene and that the man is undergoing CAT scans.
