With temperatures nearing the triple digits this weekend, a rash of violence has swept through the city, leaving seven dead and at least 21 injured from various shootings and stabbings since Friday evening. Those deaths included a Bay Ridge shopkeeper fatally shot in his store, a Queens 17-year-old who was stabbed five times, a husband who was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, and three men who were fatally shot in an SUV after a fight over a girl.

Things started around 9 p.m. Friday, when two Manhattan women, ages 19 and 28, were slashed by a teen in the Washington Houses at E. 102nd Street and Third Avenue. Just before 11 a.m., cancer-stricken Brooklyn mom Tenika Revell called 911 and told police that she had killed her 9-year-old son; she then attempted to commit suicide by pills, but survived.

Then just after 11 p.m., 65-year-old shopkeeper Mohammed Gebeli was found mortally wounded with a single gunshot to the neck inside his Bay Ridge clothing store Valentino Fashion Inc. Cops believe he was killed for the cash in his register; no arrests have been made yet. “How much money is going to be in a store like that? On a good day there’s maybe $1,000 in there,” customer Bill Deluca told the News.

As the clock moved past midnight, a 17-year-old teen was stabbed five times by a suspect around 21st Street and 37th Avenue in Queens. Just around 1 a.m., two victims were shot inside the Van Dyke Houses in Brooklyn. Around 3:30 a.m., three people were shot and wounded at 149 Richards Street inside the Red Hook Houses. Ten minutes later, a 24-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times in the chest, and a 21-year-old woman once in the arm at the corner of Seaview and Remsen Avenues in Brooklyn.

Around 4:40 a.m. Saturday morning, 25-year-old Christopher Muse was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife inside their third-floor Bronx apartment at 578 E. 141st Street. 25-year-old Chrystal Muse-Mojica was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in the incident.

Around 5 a.m., two people were shot at 270 E. Burnside Avenue in the Bronx. Around 5:05 a.m., three men were found fatally shot, and a fourth was injured, in Jamaica, Queens—63 bullets were fired in the incident, which apparently stemmed from an earlier fight over a girl. Finally, two people were shot and six people were slashed in the face during a fight outside South Bronx strip club Club Eleven around 5:30 a.m.
