A 29-year-old woman was found stabbed to death on Staten Island this afternoon. According to police, the victim—identified as Simeonette Mapes—was discovered by her husband with multiple knife wounds to her back and head.
The gruesome discovery was made just before 3 p.m. in the entryway to the couple's Forest Hill Road apartment in New Springville. Though the investigation is just starting, there are reports that police believe this may have been a home invasion gone very wrong. That theory stems from the fact that "cops were initially summoned to the home for a reported robbery, according to emergency radio transmissions."
And the heat wave of violence continues.
