Maybe that Manhattanhenge thingy will work better tonight. Or maybe not. Lots of clouds prevented viewing last night, but there's at least a slight chance the skies will clear a bit by this evening's sunset. But first we can expect a few more hours of clouds, and possibly showers, as the moist air from tropical depression Beryl runs into and over a cold front that is ever-so-slowly approaching from the west. Look for mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers early on today. The tropical moisture will be headed out to sea this afternoon and that may let the sun poke through the clouds. That will let the temperature climb to the low 80s.
The cold front should pass through town early tomorrow morning, so another round of showers overnight is not out of the question. Drier, but not much cooler air arrives behind the front tomorrow. Thursday's high will be around 80 under sunny skies. The cooler air gets here on Friday, when the high is expected to be in the lower 70s.
Lots of uncertainty is in the forecast for the first weekend of June. The Weather Service has a low pressure system moving well north of the city on Saturday. That will drag a warm front across the city late Friday night followed by a cold front the next day. There's a slight chance of rain on Saturday but the atmosphere is working against itself in that there's plenty of humidity but no trigger to get the air churning. Lots of sun is expected on Sunday once the next cold front passes.
