It was just announced that Rolling Stones frontman and "tiny todger" Mick Jagger will pull double duty as host and musical guest for the season finale of SNL. Because when he can't get the likes of Mitt Romney or One Direction, sometimes Lorne Michaels has to turn to some old reliables. But hey, if this means we might get a sequel to the classic Mick Jagger/Jimmy Fallon mirror scene, all the better.
This will be Jaggers first time as host, and fourth time as musical guest—he appeared on December 16th, 1978 with Peter Tosh, February 6th, 1993 and December 8th, 2001. Interestingly, The Rolling Stones have been host/musical guests only once—for the fourth season premiere of SNL on October 7th, 1978 (then-Mayor Ed Koch also made an appearance). Below, you can watch two videos from then, as well as a rehearsal take of "Respectable."
While we have no clue what song Jagger might play, but we think we'll be alright as long as it's not anything from his nightmare supergroup Super Heavy or his last solo album, the dreadful Goddess In The Doorway. In addition to another Fallon man-in-the-mirror sketch, we'd also love to see Jagger bring back his Keith Richards impression: "Oh Mick you ignorant slut."
