Another day, another awful story and video of a man touching himself on the subway. Meet Monique Henry, a baker whose commute from Queens to Brooklyn and back early this morning got decidedly gross when, after transferring from the Queens-bound F to the D train at Rock Center this morning, "a middle aged hispanic man" dressed "in a rumpled, cheap looking suit, and [carrying] a Jet magazine" got on the train and sat next to her. At first she didn't think anything of him and started to doze off. So when she woke up in Queens, imagine her surprise to find the man had moved across from her and, well, this is what she saw:
Henry tells us she took that video at 4:32 a.m. rather than confront the jerkoff and give him the attention he clearly wanted. Which is a good thing to do, and a good way to bust the guy later. Y'know, if anyone was willing to help:
When we got to 179th, I ran to find [help] and ran into who I guess was the conductor/announcer. I showed them the video and EXACTLY where the man was on the train. THE MAN WAS STILL ON THE TRAIN. And you know what I got? A blank stare.
"Oh, wow. Okay."
That's it. I just worked a 10 hour shift, had a 2 hour train ride home...and that's what I got.
Apparently at one point on the ride the man "had the audacity to pull out his weiner. It wasn't for long, but it was long enough for me to be like, 'um this guy is REALLY BOLD TO BE DOING THIS ON THE SUBWAY.'"
We've reached out to the MTA to find out what a rider should do in this case and they say you should contact an MTA employee or police officerl. We're now trying to find out from them what one should do if the MTA employee just responds with a blank stare. (We've also asked the NYPD for comment, but unfortunately we know from experience that the police may tell you something like "Well, if the guy didn't touch you, there's nothing you can do.")
