Fastrack, the MTA's strategy of "flooding the zone," maintenance-style, will return to the 1/2/3 lines beginning tomorrow night at 9 p.m. through April 13. What's that, you say? During the last Seventh Avenue Fastrack 800 workers completed more than 400 jobs? Well, as the MTA's release notes, "there is still more work to be done."
Here's how your service will be each night this week, 9 p.m. through 5 a.m.:
1 Train: Service will be suspended between 34th Street-Penn Station and South Ferry.
2 Train: Service will be suspended between 34th Street-Penn Station and Atlantic Avenue. Overnight 5 service is extended into Manhattan and Brooklyn. 5 trains make all 2 stops between Atlantic Avenue and Flatbush Avenue.
3 Train: Service will be completely suspended; Free shuttle buses operate to and from 3 stations at 148th, 145th and 135th Streets. 4 trains will operate local in Brooklyn make all 3 stops between Atlantic Avenue and New Lots Avenue.
42nd Street S shuttle will operate through the night.
As always, it's wise to tack on an extra 20 minutes in travel times during *ahem* Fastrack. And don't gloat, A/C/E riders: on April 23, you'll be next.
