While we had a very pleasant day yesterday the same can't be said for the Dallas area, which was hit by several tornadoes. Despite hundreds of buildings being destroyed and this insane video of 15,000 pound tractor trailers being tossed around like matchsticks, nobody was killed or even seriously hurt. That disturbance has moved on to the Gulf Coast this morning and is not expected to make its way anywhere close to us.

Instead, we've got lots of fair weather to enjoy for the next several days. A cold front is passing through the city this morning. Cooler air will take several hours to arrive. Until then look for a sunny, warm and bone dry day with a high in the upper 60s. Dry air, dry underbrush and winds at 10-20 mph all spell fire danger. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the city and surrounding areas. Connecticut looks especially vulnerable today. Be careful out there, Nutmeggers, because there's no more free land in the Western Reserve if your house burns down.

Behind the front tomorrow should be a bit cooler with a high only in the upper 50s. High pressure should still be over the region on Friday and Saturday, bringing more sun and highs in the lower 60s. By Sunday we could be on the cusp of what could be a significant weather change. The longer-range forecast models show a trough of low pressure settling down over the Northeast by Monday. If that happens we could be in for several days of cooler, wetter weather.
