Against the team with the best record in the NBA, Jeremy Lin looked nothing like the sensation that had revived the Knicks and made every team and college that passed on him rue the day it did. Lin scored eight points (on 1-of-11 shooting) with eight turnovers in the Knicks' 102-88 loss in Miami.
Since joining the Knicks' rotation, Lin had been averaging 23.9 points and 9.2 assists. But he had only three dimes Thursday, and the Knicks were outscored by 19 points when Lin was on the floor.
The Heat clearly had a plan to stop Lin, and they executed it to perfection. The Knicks can regroup over the All-Star break and hope that their point guard will make good use of some time off (though he will be playing in an exhibition Friday).
