Knicks 92, Lakers 85: After Thursday's Lakers-Celtics game, Kobe Bryant was asked if he knew of new Knicks star Jeremy Lin. His response? "I know who he is, but I don't really know what's going on too much with him. I don't even know what he's done. Like, I have no idea what you guys are talking about." Well, after Friday night's game at Madison Square Garden, Bryant is certain to know who Jeremy Lin is. Lin dropped 38-points, setting yet another career mark, as he led the Knicks to their fourth straight win. Lin even outscored Bryant, who had a team-high 34-points.
Lin's point total is the highest this season on the Knicks, surpassing a mark previously set by Carmelo Anthony. After the game, Bryant had some kind words for Lin: "I think it's a great story. I think it's a testament to perseverance and hard work. Good example for kids everywhere." Great story indeed as Linsanity continues to sweep across the world. The Knicks take the show on the road Saturday against the Timberwolves.
Pistons 109, Nets 92: While the Knicks keep on winning, the Nets keep on losing. New Jersey dropped its fifth straight game and Detroit extended its winning streak to fourgames. Detroit's Jonas Jerebko led all scorers with 20.
