A warm front is going to pass through the region today, bringing another wave of warm weather to close out the year. The southerly breeze behind the front will push today's high up to 50 degrees or thereabouts. There's a slight chance of rain this afternoon into tomorrow, but don't let that ruin your plans as there's really not all that much moisture associated with this storm.
Despite the passage of a cold front sometime tomorrow, Saturday should again warm to the lower 50s. The weather will be about as good as one can expect for New Year's Eve revelry. The temperature is expected to be in the lower 40s when the ball drops in Times Square. New Year's Day should be pretty nice. Look for mostly sunny skies and another day with highs in the lower 50s.
Cooler weather arrives on Monday as a weak Alberta Clipper dashes by to our north. The storm is not expected to produce much rain or snow, but we will see the coldest weather of the season once the trailing cold front passes through town. The forecast models all show Arctic air flowing straight from the Yukon to the East Coast. Time to get ready for highs in the 20s, lows in the teens and single digit wind chills on Tuesday and Wednesday.
