The answer to the eternal question "Are we having fun yet?" may soon be yes. Late 2011 is turning out to be a great year for fans of gone-too-soon cult television. Not only is Arrested Development really, truly, coming back but the now Grantland is reporting that Starz's late lamented pitch-black cater/waiter comedy Party Down may become a movie as early as next year. What's next, a My So Called Life movie?

"We have a treatment," former Party Down and current Parks & Recreation star Adam Scott told the website. "And if everyone’s schedules work out, we’ll shoot it over the summer." Considering how long a certain subset of fans of Party Down creator Rob Thomas's earlier show Veronica Mars have been pushing for a movie, it is kind of amazing that this could actually happen (not that Rob Thomas, that Rob Thomas). Though maybe it isn't that surprising considering what a cheap labor of love the show—which included hysterical performances by Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, Ken Jenong and Lizzy Caplan—clearly was. Apparently beyond scheduling the flick just needs one last green light from Starz. Maybe Fred Savage will even direct the movie too?

Oh, you have no clue what we are talking about? Considering the show's nonexistent ratings, that probably isn't a shock. But do yourself a favor, drop your plans tonight and settle down on Netflix for ten hours of pure awesome. You will not regret it.
