SushiSamba, the stylish restaurant that fuses together Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian cuisine to surprisingly delicious effect, is rocking a pretty appealing happy hour these days, at both their Manhattan locations. Seen here is the lounge at the original location on Park Avenue and 19th Street; it's a funky place where they show Sumo wrestling on TV screens behind the bar. This month they're doing a Brazilian happy hour, with $6 specialty cocktails and a special menu of Brazilian-inflected bar food for $6 a plate.

The menu includes options like Short Rib Trouxinhas, Crab Croquettes, Coconut Scallop Seviche, and Feijoada Pastels, which we're told are like empanadas or fried ravioli. There are also $5 beers, including Xingu, a black beer from the Amazon and Palma Luca, a lager. We stopped by last month when the restaurant was doing a Japan happy hour, so we haven't tried any of these happy hour cocktails, but this month they're offering a variety of $6 drinks made with Leblon cachaça. Leading the pack is the Blame it on Rio, a twist on Brasil's national cocktail, the Caipirinha: this one's made with fresh limes and cucumber, shaken with agave and Leblon Cachaça, with a touch of jalapeno for a spicy finish.

The hour lasts Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., which still gives you time to get down to The Magician for one of the best happy hours in Manhattan, which ends nightly at 8 p.m.
