Hey guys, did you make it to the third annual American Kennel Club/The International Cat Association "Meet the Breeds" event at the Javits Center this weekend? Were you inspired by our preview on Friday and needed to see the cuteness for yourself? Perhaps you wanted to catch a glimpse of the highly competitive cat agility contests? No? Oh, well, we were there, and it was pretty gosh-darn adorable.
There were close to 160 breeds of dogs and 50 breeds of cats at the two-day event, which allows the public unparalleled access to cute and cuddly things through a series of connecting booths. Unlike the Westminster dog show, there are no "winners" per se at Meet the Breeds (except in the agility contests), so you know all the pets go home feeling as warm and fuzzy as they look. Our photographer Katie Sokoler stopped by this weekend to document the cuteness; here's what she found.
