Earlier this year, our skin crawled in trepidation at the thought of Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri colliding on the same screen, for a new show called*Annoying Orange People Eating!*Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Smackdown. But the show must go on, and now, it's almost here, with a slightly different name: Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off (was "smackdown" too aggro for Food Network?), and a full lineup of D-list "celebrities."
The show is set to premiere on January 1, and the set-up is simple: Team Rachael squares off against Team Guy for a cooking challenge, with special guest judges sending home one loser every week. The celebrities will donate their winnings to charity, which is very nice considering that most of them could probably use some extra cash. Here's who we're dealing with:
Summer Sanders - Two-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer and national sportscaster
Lou Diamond Phillips - Golden Globe-nominated actor (Stand and Deliver, SGU Stargate Universe)
Aaron Carter - Multi-platinum-selling recording artist and actor (Popstar, Supercross)
Joey Fatone - Singer, actor, television personality and founding member of top-selling supergroup ‘N Sync
Taylor Dayne - Chart-topping recording star and actress (Broadway’s Aida, television’s Nightman)
Coolio - Grammy-winning hip-hop artist
Cheech Marin - Grammy-winning comedian, screenwriter and actor (Judging Amy, Cars 2)
Alyssa Campanella - Winner, Miss USA 2011 and Runner-Up, Miss Teen USA 2007
Obviously, the winner will be Coolio, who makes the best motherfucking caprese salad known to man, and probably doesn't need this reality show shit:
