The sprawling top floor of Bowlmor was formerly a carnival-themed club called, well, Carnival. The 16,000-square-feet space has been closed since 2010, when heavy snowstorms caved in the pressurized dome room, but it's now reopened as the Greenwich Village Country Club, a "kitschy, retro theme" entertainment emporium featuring mini golf, bocce ball, and the Game of Senior Champions, shuffleboard.
Lovingly restored animal sculptures, salvaged from a 1950s amusement park, line the 9-hole mini golf course. Across the links you'll find the Club House, which ironically evokes a country club vibe, but with a giant dance floor and a "CBGB meets Caddyshack" vibe. The walls are hung with golf-related photography and artwork, and upscale comfort food from chef David Burke is served throughout. For good measure, a second bar called The 19th Hole is positioned directly underneath a vertiginous upside-down putting green.
Mini golf and bocce costs $7.95 per person per game; at press time it was unclear how much the shuffleboard costs—a call to the club proved fruitless. But you can probably just sign for it under Ty Webb's name. [UPDATE: Air hockey and shuffleboard are $2 per game; billiards are $3 per game. The club is open until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1 a.m. on weeknights.]
