While an earlier report that Con Ed was in cahoots with the 1% has been disproven, it appears that Occupy Wall Street has infiltrated the MTA. Gothamist intern/public transit espionage expert Kristina spotted Occupy Wall Street operatives posting these missives disguised as service alerts on the L train. Unfortunately, nobody bothers to read those sad little sheets of paper anyway.
The flyer suggests that we "Overturn Citizens United v FEC," which is a reference to a Supreme Court case that was decided 5-4 in January of 2010 that destroyed campaign finance reform laws and gives corporations the power to pump money into politician's coffers with impunity. President Obama criticized the ruling in his 2010 State of the Union. No word on whether the "53%" will place TVs next to these flyers with a much simpler message.
