[Update Below] Radiohead. Roseland Ballroom. Two nights. Tickets? GOOD LUCK. It's been three long years since the fantastic five played in the NYC area (just across the river at All Points West). With the announcement that they'd be in town for television appearances this month, rumors ran wild that the band would inevitably play a show outside a TV studio. Earlier this morning, we guessed they'd rock Roseland, and lo and behold it is thus. From the band's management:
Radiohead has confirmed two shows at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom to take place September 28 and 29. Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 AM on September 26 at www.ticketmaster.com. There is a 2 ticket limit per household. All tickets will be available for pick up at will call the evening of the event beginning at 6:30 PM and entry into the venue is required immediately upon receipt. No tickets shall be distributed prior to the event.
Oh, that will call line's gonna be a gas! No word yet how much the tickets are selling for, but considering how infrequently the band performs these days, the venue's relatively small size, and Radiohead's undeniable magnificence, this is will no doubt be a white hot ticket. Start grovelling now! We feel your luck could change...
UPDATE:Consequence of Sound notes that, according to Twitter, Four Tet, along with fellow producers RocketNumberNine, Falty DL, and Pearson Sound, will open both shows. (Both Four Tet and Pearson Sound participated in The King Of Limbs remix series.) Also, the shows are now up on the Ticketmaster page. It goes without saying that money is no object when it comes to Radiohead, but it looks like tickets—should you be lucky enough to purchase them—will cost you $65, plus another $14.75 in "fees."
