When Mayor Bloomberg decides to leave politics, don't expect him to be out of the public eye just yet: Bloomberg has developed quite the acting career for himself over the years. Inspired by his recent cameo on the season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm—which he reportedly ad-libbed—we decided to take a look at some of Bloomberg's other fine moments in film.

Of course, like any good New York actor, Bloomberg got his on-screen start appearing on Law & Order (twice—once Fred Thompson was worried about his job), both times playing himself. Under union rules, he was paid $678 for his work, which he donated to the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund. He later expanded his repertoire with a 2008 cameo in A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa, where he uttered the line, "the one thing New Yorkers are known for is being polite."

Bloomberg also honed his acting chops with a cameo on 30 Rock, during which he is referred to as "Mayor Bloomberger" and gamely performs a call-and-response with the ever-sharp Dennis Duffy. This appearance is also believed to have planted the first seeds of a potential mayoral run in 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin's brain.

Bloomberg made his big-screen debut in the 2011 Matt Damon vehicle The Adjustment Bureau, once again playing himself. "For about 9.2 seconds, you may just spot a ruggedly handsome guy playing the mayor of New York," he joked about the stint.

Last but certainly not least, there's the film which Bloomberg is probably most notorious: Sex and the City. Bloomberg's cameo ended up on the cutting room floor, an edit the mayor spent the next six months mentioning—"They wanted more sex, less city." Perhaps he'll have his moment to shine in the upcoming '80s-set prequel, or maybe Miguel Bloombito has a future in Telenovelas.
