A Massachusetts resident arrested—and being held on $5 million bail—for allegedly killing a woman while she was walking a quiet suburban NJ street with her husband and three-year-old son has given a jailhouse interview with the Daily News. Antoinette Stephen, 26, denied shooting Nazish Noorani—"No! No!"—but did have something to say to Noorani's relatives: "I'm sorry."
NJ authorities say that Stephen knew Noorani's husband, Brooklyn resident Kashif Parvaiz, who convinced her to kill his 27-year-old wife and mother of his two sons. Parvaiz was also injured, though not fatally, and has also been charged with murder. Parvaiz initially told investigators that the Boonton, NJ shooting suspects were racially motivated, calling him and his family "terrorists," and eventually he killed his wife because she disparaged his family. Police also found text messages between Parvaiz and Stephen, like, "You hang in there. Freedom is just around ur corner."
Stephen told the News, "There is a lot of misinformation out there," but wouldn't explain, "My lawyer told me I can't say anything." That's probably good advice.
