Last night before 7:45 p.m., three people were injured when a man fired onto a Bronx street. The most seriously hurt was a two-year-old girl who was shot in the temple. The others hit by the bullets were a five-year-old who was grazed in the neck and a 20-year-old man who was hit in the back.

Police suspect the shooting, on East 181st Street near Daly Avenue, may have been directed at the 20-year-old victim, who apparently tried to shield a pregnant woman. The NY Times reports, "Shortly before 8 p.m., witnesses said, a man appeared, walking along 181st Street and carrying a weapon. Without breaking stride, he fired several times, then walked to Daly Avenue, where he turned the corner and fled." A witness said the shooter "was firing blindly."

According to WCBS 2, "Police think 23-year-old Luis Moore is the shooter. He’s 5’9" and about 165 pounds. He lives at 2130 [Strang] Avenue. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a white shirt."
