If you've been reading Gothamist for any amount of time you've probably noticed that there are two things we love almost as much as New York: Pandas and Law & Order. And while we're unlikely to be getting any of the black and white variety here in New York anytime soon (though we've got red ones!) come November we should be able to own every episode ever of everyone's favorite dearly departed crime procedural. All for the low, low suggested retail price of...$700.
Yes, a little pricey for something you can see on TV for free at pretty much any time of day, but still! On November 8 Universal is planning on releasing the mammoth 104-disc, 452-episode Law & Order: The Complete Series (plus three Homicide: Life on the Streets cross over episodes) into the wilds. In addition to those hundreds of hours of chung-chungs the set (which the Post guesses will weigh in at about 16 pounds) will also include deleted scenes, cast interviews and profiles (including one of Fred Thompson), set tours, mini-features, a preview of the upcoming Law & Order video game not to mention a tribute to the late, great, Jerry Orbach who played Detective Lennie Briscoe on the show for 12 of its 20 seasons.
If you were wondering what to get us for Festivus? Wonder no more.
