It was just announced that Radiohead will be the musical guests on the September 24th season premiere of Saturday Night Live! Mayor-in-training Alec Baldwin will be the guest host, making for the show's best lineup in years. This will be Radiohead's second time on SNL; the first came in 2000, promoting Kid A, when they performed blistering versions of "The National Anthem" and "Idioteque," during which Thom Yorke unleashed his now-classic spastic-sexy dance moves for the world. (Watch "Idioteque" below.)

Of course, the news has gotten Radiohead fans salivating at the mouth at the prospect of more shows from the band, which doesn't seem out of the question. Since the release of the polarizing The King Of Limbs, the band has only played one surprise show at Glastonbury (along with an awesome "From The Basement" TV segment). Considering how important carbon footprints are to the group, we'd be shocked if they were to fly all the way to NYC and not play at least one surprise show somewhere (in 2000, they played one of four North American shows for Kid A at Roseland Ballroom). At the very least, we'll almost certainly get a Yorke DJ gig.
