For those on the right who feel that Michele Bachmann's Newsweek cover photo was a blatant hit job, you have an unlikely supporter with a massive platform: Jon Stewart took to The Daily Show last night to lampoon Newsweek editor Tina Brown for choosing such an unflattering image. After showing a few examples of how photogenic Bachmann is, Stewart asserts, "You gotta go pretty far out of your way to find a crappy photo of Michele Bachmann."
Not exactly! But so many photos are taken of her there are bound to be bad ones. However, Stewart was dead on in what we should actually care about: Bachmann's insane statements about everything from gays to "re-education camps." He also shows us some delightfully unattractive photos of Tina Brown.

Brown was also on MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning defending her decision, calling Bachmann a "very strong-looking woman." According to her, it wasn't just that particular photograph which looked so, um, insane: "The intensity in her eyes is in all the photographs of her." She couldn't say the same of President Obama, who "looked like a whipped dog this week. Really, in all the pictures. And it's sad." Yes, what has happened to our president?
