An NYPD sergeant was charged with a DWI after he ran a red light at Garnet and Court streets in Brooklyn early this morning. The sergeant, 34-year-old Diego Vivar, was off-duty, and not bashful about what he had done: "I had a couple of beers," Vivar told the Post. "There were no injuries and I didn't have my firearm on me," he adds. Oh well when you put it that way...
Vivar, a six-year veteran who works the 44th precinct in the Bronx, was stopped around 2 a.m. and suspended for 30 days without pay. He was released without bail at his arraignment. At least he didn't attempt to pull any strings that are unavailable to the rest of us civilians.
